Throughout Jewish history the mitzvah of mikvah has been guarded as a personal and private mitzvah, so much so that our sages refer to mikvah as a “hidden mitzvah.”
Far from denoting that mikvah is secret or inaccessible, hidden simply means personal; cherished; precious: and therefore most powerfully shared one-on-one.
That’s why mikvah’s essence has always been best conveyed by those for whom its meaning has been especially poignant.
MOED respects that the nature, beauty and meaning of mikvah can best be conveyed from one woman to another, and for that reason several MOED women have volunteered to share their personal and powerful stories with you.
Please fill out the form below and MOED will be honored to mail or e-mail you contemporary, true and powerful vignettes written by those whose lives have been altered by MOED’s sacred mitzvah.
